Known as Teresita to her friends and family, nineteen-year-old Teresa de Cepeda y Ahumada asks for her father's permission to enter Carmel of the Incarnation. He refuses. In a passionate and decisive moment, Teresa leaves home in the middle of the night without her father’s knowledge. In this one-act play, Teresa reflects on her life's experiences that led her to this imminent decision.

About the author
Michele Morris is an actress, director, and writer with more than thirty years of theater and storytelling experience. Michele’s own question to God, “What do You want of me?” led her on an unforgettable journey to Carmel, living in a monastery with a beautiful community of sisters for more than a year. Michele currently lives in Richmond, Virginia. This is her first published play.
