What is Modernism?
Rejecting the Cornerstone exposes and analyzes elements of Modernist thinking. A religious Modernist is not simply one who wishes to update religious practice. Rather, Modernism goes to the very core of belief in God and the essential nature of man.
God in reality always was and always will be. In Modernist thought, however, God is merely an idea stemming from man. The author shows, in clear language, Modernist beliefs, how to recognize them, and their consequences for faithful Catholics.
Modernism is a rejection of Christ, the foundation of the Church.
Rejecting the Cornerstone includes Pope Pius IX’s Syllabus of Errors and Pope St. Pius X’s Oath Against Modernism.
“Certainly this suffices to show superabundantly by how many roads Modernism leads to the annihilation of all religion. The first step in this direction was taken by Protestantism; the second is made by Modernism; the next will plunge headlong into atheism.”
~ Pope St. Pius X, Pascendi
