Details
Nine-year-old Sandy was quite comfortable living in the town of Prescott. She went to a school with rows of clean children in tidy desks. All the serenity and order was soon to end, for they were moving again! Into a canyon, at the edge of civilization.
Hillside Castle tells the true story of a family’s brief time living in a remote mining camp in central Arizona. The times were lean…and primitive…and interesting!
About the author
Author Sandy Anderson was born in Prescott and has lived in Yavapai County almost all her life, except for a short interlude in Washington state. That, too, was interesting. But Yavapai County is truly home. All of it. Every spring and river, gully and canyon, ponderosa and mesquite. And every inhabitant, from whitetail to horned toad. Created beauty. And so much still to be discovered.
